One of the items missing from this message is the fact that humans are the reason that there are so many cows on this planet. Because of our desire to consume meat we have created this scenario and thus created this problem. If we would reduce our meat intake and thus reduce the need for cows as well as other livestock this would then help reduce these issues. We should stop blaming the cows and start taking action to make a change. |

Huh? It's our fault that we need to eat? The perverse nature of this logic is rather frightening. Normal, universal human needs are now being spun as damaging to the planet, and guess what? We're willing to force you to make the necessary changes! We're taking action to save the planet by outlawing steak! And so what if we reduce our meat intake? We are just going to have to make up for that with increased farming, cultivation, irrigation, etc -- including tons of gasoline and carbon emissions to fertilize and harvest the increased plants we will need. So, the net impact on the environment will be basically zero, but guess who wins?
It is absolutely amazing to me that the debate has gone so far and these clowns are so far off-their-rocker that statements like this are widely accepted by broad swaths of the Left. I mean think about it: They are actively calling for controlling what we eat?!!? What the fuck ever happened to freedom? |

Dear Christian Thank you very much for your comments and all I am asking if you could please allow me to explain myself. First I am not saying that we should all stop eating meat all I am saying is that we should try to reduce our meat intake even if it is as little as one less meat meal a week or even a month--something is better than nothing. If people choose to eat meat that is their choice, however there are ways to do it were both people and the Earth wins. Some additional ideas: - Try to eat food that was produced locally. This will help with the effects that transporting mass amounts of food long distances has on the environment.
- Try to eat food that is organic. The chemicals that are placed in our food are not good on the environment as well as not good for our bodies.
- Try to buy food that does not use that much packaging. Packaging, besides needing to throw it away since a lot cannot be recycled, also needs large amount of energy to produce, ship and assemble the packaging.
I know that everyone needs to eat and I am not asking people to eliminate meat all I am asking is that people be more responsible when they do eat and start to look inside themselves to make a change instead of blaming something/some else or expecting other people to make the changes. Thank you for listening. |
